Second time here, love the atmosphere, the food was excellent, and the wait staff including the bartenders, hostesses and management were all over the top good. This will be our new hang out . Bobbie and Adam have both waited on us and did an amazing job. Thanks for 2 incredible evenings. Try the salmon!

Great server Adam and good pizza. Octoberfest beer, Fat tire, and IPA on tap. BBQ and buffalo chicken pizzas were good.

My wife and I ate here on a Sunday night. We thought it was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered a burger which was tasty and well cooked but not out of this world. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was average. Sweet potato fries were great. They had the fans and AC going full bore and it was pretty chilly inside for a mild Sunday evening.

Came here thinking it would be ok because the night before we saw a busy parking lot. We were not impressed with this meal. We got the surf and turf pizza and added a salad bar. The pieces of steak and lobster were soooo small. We were thinking more of chunks. The crust tastes like it was just a premade crust and was dry. The salad bar is an additional five dollars and you can only go up one time. Wouldn't recommend this spot.

Excellent food excellent service the place was clean the salad bar was fresh my steak was cooked to perfection my beer was my only complaint it was not really that cold it was bottled so just maybe it was not in the cooler very long. The place was busy had a little wait. but also plenty of seats at the bar. I ate here on my last day of vacation and I wish I would have at here first because I would have been a regular. The girl next to me ordered crab legs they looked to be out of this world.

Worst customer service I have encountered. Waitress too busy yacking with next table We never were greeted, no water, biscuits or salad plates. Waitress was too busy to acknowledge us. We walked out. Don't go if you expect service in this restaurant!

I cannot recommend a better place to eat this was the last night of our vacation and it was by far the best place we have eaten all week!! They had great live music, great atmosphere, friendly service and GREAT food!! Wonderful all the way around!!

The brick oven pizza is really good and the marinated chicken breast is also a meal to get. I have heard of other meals not being great which is why I am not giving 5 stars. Also they give hush puppies at the beginning of your meal which are really good!

Tonight, on Father's Day, my family decided that we wanted to go Bovines for dinner. It was a favorite from past trips so we called ahead but were told they didn't take reservations. No problem, we thought. We will just go on ahead. What's the worst that could happen? Chapter 1: The Gatekeepers Three sorceresses, in the guise of identical teenage blonde girls, told them their first task would be to survive a 15-20 minute wait for their table. Not so difficult, they agreed. As soon as they entered a wall of heat rose to meet them. A sudden daze of lethargy and the tiny screams of 1000 babies overcame them. Broken ceiling fans stared down at them. With every moment the temperature rose another degree and a new child ran from the arms of its mother. The parents stared ahead with dead eyes mumbling "Oh no. Come back. Stop, Liam." and flailed their arms listlessly, but refused to move from their seats in order to disband the Children of the Corn. Chapter 2: The Deceiver True to their word, the gatekeepers released the family from their temporary prison within the amount of time promised. And into the arms of "The Deceiver" they flew. She came to the family like a glowing beacon of hope. She offer them the choice of eating in the bar (the room in which they had just been imprisoned) or the dining room. She told the family the dining room would be much cooler, and like the naive fools they were, they embraced her beautiful lies. As they made the fifteen foot walk to the double doors they anticipated a cool rush of breeze. But, alas, they were lead straight into the oven of Satan himself. Seated beneath the corpse of another lifeless ceiling fan, the family's gaiety began to wain. Never fear, the brave and selfless father advanced into the room to find a new, cooler, area in which to feast. He spotted a table perfect for our four heroes by a window. He looked upward to the heavens and that's when he saw it, a sign from The Lord, a working ceiling fan spinning above the table. Chapter 3: The Gauntlet A year in his eye, the father returned and waived over to the Deceiver. He mentioned the open table, a few leagues to the east, and inquired if the family could forge onward to settle this new land. "That table is for a reservation" the deceiver replied. But wait, what kind of riddle is this? "We tried to make a reservation earlier but we were told you don't take reservations" the mother informed her. A flash of fear and panic flashed across the Deceivers face. "I'll be right back" she blurted, and off into the night she ran. Mere seconds later she returned, "The hostess said its for a reservation." "You can reserve specific tables?" The father inquired skeptically. "It's what the hostess said." The Deceiver replied shakily. Discord began to settle in amongst the family. It was hot, it was loud, but they decided to soldier onward. Chapter 4: The Famine A new unease had settled in between the family and the Deceiver. She quickly took their order and vanished. Family after family came and sat, fed and drank, paid and left. And our heroes waited. The sands of time passed throughout the hourglass of eternity. Every topic of discussion ran dry. The family had stared at each other so long that the faces they had once known so well began to grow unfamiliar. The fire alarm went off twice, no one moved, their muscles had turned to stone. At long last, the family awoke from their spell. How long had it been? What year was it? Did they now understand the series finale of Lost? "Excuse me miss, do you know how much longer the wait will be?" They asked into the abyss of nothing. "Five more minutes and we are going to Sonic" Chapter 5: The Empire Strikes Back A mere moment before the high stakes escape was planned, the Deceiver returned with a tray in hand. She placed the plates before them. Was it safe or was it a trap? They looked at each other warily. Too exhausted to fight, they ate. Damn whatever the fate may be! Whether it was starvation or reality, they couldn't tell, but the food presented was hot. It had the flavor of what they recalled, somewhere in a distant memory, food was supposed to taste like. "If I don't make it back around, have a happy Father's Day!" The Deceiver chimed as she presented them with a check. (*Spoiler alert: She never makes it back around.) Chapter 6: The End Tonight, we all piled back into my our Toyota Sienna with much on our minds. We couldn't help but all stare out the window and think back on Samuel Coleridge's 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' knowing now what it meant to be "sadder but wiser." At long last my brother broke the silence, to form into words what we had all been trying to understand about the true meaning of life. "F#%^ Bovines". My mother cleared her throat, and our adventure was through. Author's Notes: ***My dad really wants me to mention that we also had to ask for silverware.

Amazing food! I visited the cruise at express water sports and was craving for pizza. Found this and the pizza here is really amazing. Just enough in the oven to be delicious. I would definitely visit this place and would recommend it to all the pizza lovers. Not to be missed. The ambience is awesome too. They have a salad bar which is pretty good too.

We came here for our last night in SC and what a bad choice. We were seated right away as we had a reservation, and as we were shown to our seats I saw a salad bar. I should have known this was not going to be after seeing that. The waiter came over to get our drink orders, and he had a little attitude and seemed overwhelmed by his tables. He even said "this is the busiest I have seen it this summer." This did not make sense because we were there on a Monday night the last week in July. Whatever, we ordered a bottle of wine and some waters. We ordered the artichoke and spinach dip, clam chowder, and got the hushpuppies to start. The dip and chowder were very heavy and really didn't have that much flavor. Out of the three we liked the hushpuppies best - another bad sign. The salad bar was actually fresh and not as bad as I was expecting. Two of us ordered the steak special, which for ~$30 sounded amazing - goat cheese, carmelized onions, 2 filets....the dishes came out and the only thing that worked was that the steak was actually cooked at the right temperature that we ordered it. (medium and medium well) As far as the rest of the plate, it was just a slice of goat cheese placed on top of the filets, some mush that didn't have any flavor, and barely any onions. We were really disappointed by the special dish especially because it was so expensive. The other two dishes were pizza and oyster po-boy sandwich. The pizza was a mess to say the least. It was soggy, poorly cooked, and looked like it was cooked/made hours before, and just heated up quickly in the oven - the tell tale sign is the consistency of the cheese and the middle of the dough. The pizza oven when you walk in smells good but doesnt seem to "cook" any pizza. The sandwich's side was requested to be vegetables, of course it came out with fries, and we had to ask for the vegetables. The meal was just a disaster and very disappointing to say the least given it was our last night in Murrell's Inlet, and we spent so much on it. There are so many other good restaurants right there - go to Wicked Tuna (which is where we should have gone for the 2nd time during our trip instead of here) or Dead Dog.

We made a reservation and were greeted and seated promptly (we were given a choice and told we could change if we were too hot outside.) The atmosphere on the deck was perfect. Service was great, and the drinks and food were very good; we had pizza, salmon, and meatloaf. This was our third visit, on a fairly busy Wednesday evening. We are locals so we have the advantage of coming in the less busy season, but this time we brought friends from out of town. Our friends had not visited Bovines before, but enjoyed it very much. We will be back.

Atmosphere is good, very kid friendly but the food is nothing to write home about. I had the crab cake sandwich and I probably could have made it myself at home. Everything was good, just not great...

Agreed with other reviews.... not great. Place was so smokey from grill. The food was not served nicely, not much taste. Didn't even finish meal x 3 others at table. Would not return. Had fish platter, salmon, and steak. 2 stars and only for the waitress who really tried hard o please. The atmosphere and decor could use some sprucing up and look brighter.

3rd time here, my meal was mediocre. I had the Margherita pizza (which I'm convinced they have changed since last year). The plate was hot but that doesn't explain why my mozzarella cheese hardened right away and slid off with the first bite. Salad bar was a waste of $5.95- watery lettuce that does not allow dressing to stick to. Fiancés prime rib was delicious. Waitress friendly but took a while to get our drink order, then refills, then bill, then bill returned. Don't think we will come back.

What a great experience. We came with a party of 13 and only waited 20mins. Restaurant is right on the marsh. I got the 16oz ribeye over wood fire with onion and mushrooms served with baked potato and veggies. The steak is one of the best I have ever had. It was cooked perfect and very flavorful and juicy. The salad bar was very fresh. I also got an appetizer. Dynamite oysters was the name and the name for amazingly. Baked oysters with cream cheese, shrimp, and crab with dynamite sauce. This place is a must visit.

Bovine's was recommended to us by a friend when we first started vacationing in Surfside Beach in 1995. It quickly become one of our family favorites and was usually one of the first restaurants we went to when here. We sometimes came twice during our 2 week stay, because we could count on having a delicious meal. We especially liked the Pizza. However, I feel as though the quality of the food has gone downhill in the last few years. The pizza is nothing like it used to be. It's unfortunate because the location is great and has a nice ambiance. Given the fact that there are so many other restaurants in the area, we will probably not be coming back.

Best steak that I had while in Myrtle Beach. Excellent staff and Awesome view! Worth the trip to Murrells Inlet. Very nice place to have a meal!

Mediocre. Wife had the filet and lobster tail. Filet totally lacked flavor, had a very poor sear, but was cooked to the right temperature. The lobster tail was chewy and bland. I had the BBQ-chicken and ribs. The chicken was ok. The ribs were bland, had zero smoke flavor, zero smoke ring, and the BBQ sauce was the ONLY flavor involved. The vegetables on the side were bland. I ordered the Caesar salad, and it seemed to be iceberg lettuce, dry croutons, and salad dressing that tasted like bottled dressing. Server was neither knowledgeable nor efficient. The only redeeming grace was the hush puppies. Last trip here.

We were Able to walk right In on a Saturday evening. Probably not a great sign when every place else had a wait. Took one bite of the corn pudding and left the rest on the plate. The catch of the day was red snapper it was good. Shrimp and grits were runny. Smoked oysters were ok, a couple of them tasted "funny". There are many other places in the area that we will try next time we are near Myrtle beach .

    (2)
  • Craig H.

This place downright sucks- our server was spacey and inattentive to us. The ribs were decent but nothing special. Shrimp were previously frozen and saugy. Don't recommend this place.

Was pretty good. Ate dinner with another couple visiting us from Savannah. Service was nice and polite waitstaff, but must say food was OK to better than average. Had the steak. Smoked oysters apptzr was good as was the beef filled Egg rolls. All in all was a pretty good experience and view of the Marsh was a Plus.

I think that the food was a little over priced for the quality. The staff was awesome and very friendly! Not sure if I would go back. But the happy hour wasn't a bad deal.

We usually have a wonderful experience here and make it a point to come at least once a week when we come here for vacations, however, this time wasn't very good. The food wasn't very good, the server was three days new and very overwhelmed with tables, he forgot one of our dishes, our drinks took 20 minutes, one of his tables walked out in him and we heard him get reamed out by another table. BUT the manager was super awesome and came over and gave us a gift certificate, took off my moms meal since she didn't eat it (shrimp and grits she said it tasted weird) and the waiter was apologetic. Not sure if some of us will give it another chance but I think I will considering we've been going for years and this was a fluke incident! My suggestion is order the STEAK. The clam chowder was more like bacon chowder with a couple clams. Salad bar was the best part of our meal tonight in which we should probably thank God or nature for that because He grows the stuff...

This was our first time back in almost two years. Our last experience was ehhh so I was hesitant, but eager to give it another shot. This time, they didn't disappoint. The hostess was more than friendly and immediately gave us a great seat by the garage doors which open to the outside, offer a wonderful breeze, and a chance to hear the live band next door at Wahoos. The waitress arrived promptly and ran down the specials as well as offering advice on what beers to try. I had the grilled snapper which was cooked perfectly. The garlic mashed potatoes were less than stellar but the corn pudding made up for it. My gosh that corn pudding. Delicious! My husband had the surf and turf (with lobster) and the steak was melt in your mouth delicious. The lobster was grilled and wasn't chewy, but snapped in you mouth exactly when it should. The wood fire permeated throughout our food and we couldn't have been happier. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? The hush puppies are a little blah, the garlic mashed potatoes need flavor, and the French fries were just ehhhh. The view is awesome, the staff is beyond friendly, and the food is pretty Dagon good. We'll definitely be back again!

We started our meal with smoked oysters with shrimp and crab it was delicious !! We also got a bovine's deluxe pizza. The pizza was wonderful crispy bottom and yummy toppings. We had the most wonderful and helpful waiter by the name of Jacob. He was very helpful in helping time our meal so it was perfectly spaced time wise For our dinner we had fall off the bone finger licking baby back ribs that you could eat with a fork! The corn pudding was a delicious treat, light and tasty. The shrimp and grits was creamy and full of flavor. My friend got the filet with blue cheese and applewood bacon she loved it and ate every morsel. My other friend got prime rib but after eating the oysters and pizza and the yummy salad bar with home made dressings she was only able to eat a bites of her prime rib. She loved it though. For dessert we shared one of their home made desserts a triple chocolate cake of heaven!! Absolutely fabulous!! I would go back again but we leave tomorrow :(

We almost didn't go after reading all the poor reviews but decided to give it a try. Glad we did! The atmosphere is nice with a great view! It's a place that you can go casual but also can dress up a little if you want. The hush puppies they bring you when you get seated are addictive!! Sweet and moist. We had the steak egg rolls which were delicious. Got 2 pizzas which we both liked and another had steak tips. Couldn't finish any meals after all the apps. Service was fabulous! Our waitress was upbeat and friendly. When our entrees were taking awhile due to a large party before us, she updated us several times and apologized for the wait.

The food here was delicious. I got the crab cakes and my husband got the grouper special. Both were amazing! The food was worth the money spent: included salad bar, lots of sides, and hush puppies. The service was a little slow, but I would definitely come back again.

It really pains me to give Bovine's such a low review. I have been coming every 2-3 years since I was a kid. It has always been a must for us when we stay in Surfside. The last time I visited in 2010, I felt that they were slipping with the food quality. I went again last week, and the food was just bad. The complimentary hush puppies were the best part of the meal. My parents and I shared the calamari and Caesar salad to start. Both tasted bland and the quality was poor. I'm pretty sure the marinara sauce was poured from a jar. We each got a pizza to share. We had the BBQ chicken, pepperoni and margarita. The crush is AWFUL. That leftovers that we had went straight into the garbage. The only thing Bovine's has going for it now are the beautiful views of the water. Get your act together Bovine's! I have no plans to return in the near future. You can find me at the Dead Dog Saloon instead!

My fiancé and I tried this restaurant on our last night at Myrtle Beach and had our best dining experience of the entire week! The food was unique and wonderful, we were able to make same day reservations and were taken right in, the prices were so reasonable, the view was picturesque, and the service was exceptional! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

It takes a lot for me to register a complaint about a restaurant but this place pushed me there. The salad bar was OK but it ends there. My wife had the shrimp dish. The breaded shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. The garlic mashed potatoes were ice cold...really ice cold. I had the worst meatloaf I've ever tasted along with a baked potato that was totally undercooked. I pulled the waitress aside and informed her of the problems. It stopped there. No apology ...no visit from the manager....no nothing. I will never be back.

Just had dinner there on vacation and it was great good service from are waitress. We had the calamari which was good. The hush puppies were very addicting best I have ever had. I got a Ceaser salad and it was great. The ribeye was good and the pizza was good from what the other people got. The only thing was the outside of my steak picked up a lot of burnt stuff from the cook top but besides that it was great.

We have been eating at Bovine's when we are on vacation for many, many years. Despite the restaurant's name, I enjoy the salad bar and veggies. My husband enjoys the seafood. My kids love their pizza. It is excellent. If you are going to get pizza at the beach, this is where you need to go.

Very pricey and nothing to write home about. We had a large group here and nobody really had a lot of positive thing to say about it. Steaks are OK but I've had better for less.

Not a good experience tonight . Told we would wait 30-40 minutes an hour and a half later and we were seated at a table in the bar that had been empty all night. Asked for a waitress and we continued to wait. Ten minutes later I Asked for the manager and the hostess went to find the waitress. By the time I returned to the table my family had gotten up and left . We left and went to wahoos, and were treated very well.

I should have known better than to go to a place without a wait in an area that has 2+ hour wait. Good thing we filed up on the complimentary hush puppies as the meal wasn't worth human consumption. Fresh flounder was horrible. Had to ask waitress for utensils and for my son's salad bar plate. The tartar sauce wasnt more than miracle whip and a drop off relish. The pizza my husband ordered wasn't bad. But they didn't even put fresh basil on the Margarita pizza. That shows that this place uses short cuts whenever possible. This place needs restaurant rescue.

For being a steak place, the ribeye was fattier than it should have been and didn't have as much flavor as expected. Oysters were nice and sweet but not crispy enough. Great view and friendly waitress Joyce Previously was here and would recommend the shrimp and grits.

The worst dining experience in my 50 years. They tried to cook my steak 5 times without success. The price was 26.95 and you would think I could get a decent steak for that. At our table the seafood was over cooked and another person also sent their steak back. Please do not go unless you want a terrible evening. I feel sorry for the owner.

Appetizers- spinach and artichoke dip was good but chips were too salty; calamari was great but had to ask for marinara sauce it didn't come with it Entree- VERY over priced and took FOREVER to come out; buffalo chicken pizza was pretty good and so was the margarita kind of messy though ; mixed grill was just okay Overall it was not that bad the vibe was good :)

Question: How do you let 2 full racks of dried-out shoeleather leave your kitchen? Answer: Hide your mistake in BBQ sauce This was an embarrasement to southern BBQ...locals were all eating the fish special - guess that should have been my clue...

Avoid. Extremely disappointed with the food we purchased. Since there were lots of cars in the parking lot we thought it might be a winner. We are from out of town. *please note the waitress was very courteous. We sat outside to enjoy the marsh view. Ordered: Shrimp pasta plate with cream sauce, $18.95. 6 shrimp ( not fresh. - FYI) in a large pasta plate. Sauce: flavorless. I asked for some fresh grated Parmesan ( wanting to infuse flavor). I was brought a cheese shaker with the PROCESSED CHEESE POWDER. Salt and pepper couldn't help this dish :( Husband ordered fish of the day: Grouper 28.85. It came with garlic mashed potatoes. The fish okay but INSTANT MASHED POTATOES with garlic powder was served on this $28.95 plate! Seriously??? We both had the salad bar: bagged salad among the other toppings. If this is your type of $20-30 A PLATE delight, eat here :(( Note to Bovines* fresh ingredients makes all the difference, give it a try. Shame on you. Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine could really help you out.

While every restaurant in Murrells Inlet is I'm sure of the mindset that 99% of diners are there for one night and will likely never return - it was clear that this was how our party was valued. First, two members of our 6 top ordered drinks from the bar. The drinks did not come out for 10 minutes. Our server explained that they had been accidentally sent to another table. So to make up for the delay he brought THOSE drinks, plus 2 more. Really?!? Which two of the four had PREVIOUSLY been served to another table? Then when our entrees came out only 5 of the 6 party were served. The last entree took 15 minutes to arrive - obviously was never started. These kind of things happen. No big deal - I've worked in restaurants before. But, when the bill comes and the server and management do not make any effort to make up for the obvious lack of performance and quality - it shows that this place does not value its customers. Additionally, the ribs were chewy, tough - and the sauce tasted store bought. Everything else was just very so so.

My boyfriend and I went to stay with my aunt, uncle, and three cousins in their Myrtle Beach vacay house on Memorial Day weekend. Coming from Chicago and being a huge foodie, I wasn't sure what to expect on my first trip to the area but wow this place kind of impressed me! We all got some really amazing dishes. We started off with the chicken rolls, the baked garlic, artichoke dip and calamari and all were amazing. I could've seriously made a meal out of them. Next up was the salad bar, which was nothing crazy, but everything was cold crisp and refreshing and the dressings hit the spot after a long hot day at the beach. I had the tuna special, and I will say my tuna wasn't as raw as I'd like, but it was still very good. My boyfriend got the clam pizza which was AMAZING. I knew that when I saw their pizza oven I should've ordered pizza. But really, after sampling everyone's orders, I realized that there were no bad choices at this place!

Got the calamari and it was awesome. The lemon butter dip was one of my favorites. The crab cakes were very good as well. Lots of jumbo lump crab and not to much filling

I really enjoyed my visit to Bovine's. We arrived a bit before the dinner rush and decided to sit at the bar area. We started with the chicken-cheese egg rolls. I loved them because they were nice & cheesy and the chicken had a roasted flavor, that was not overly smoky. For my entree, I decided to order one of the specials of the day - fresh grouper over a bed of blue crab mac & cheese and mixed veggies. This also came with a salad and the corn pudding. Thankfully, I skipped the salad bar because this would have been too much. Everything I ordered was yummo! David decided to go with a caeser salad and the shrimp pizza since they have the wood oven. I took a bite of his pizza and thought it was very good. A little on the sweet side but quite delicious. Our server was really attentive and went out of her way to take care of us. I am glad we decided to give them a try. I would most definitley go back.

It really hurts me to write this. We eat at Bovine's a lot. That might change after our last experience. The last time we dined there, they bombed. Really. First, part of what makes this place is the view. All dang summer the owner has had his HUGE boat parked in front of the restaurant. Guess what? It blocks the view from the dining room. Onto the food. Had the calamari appetizer and the shrimp, they were fine, but not as good as usual. I had pizza, it was soggy. The fried seafood was over fried. The new crab cake recipe did not please my mother. The steak was fine. Overall the food did not live up to the standards that we are use to from Bovine's. The service was exceptionally slow as well. They were busy, but not that busy. I hope that we only caught them on an off night. But given the very poor experiences that I have had from several Divine Food Group restaurants this summer I fear that it may be a company problem, not just an off night.

The absolute worst pizza I've ever had. Thank God I had it on Monday where it's half priced cause I would have been even more pissed for paying full price for a brick oven pizza that tastes like eating card board. I won't be eating that there again. Bartender could have been more attentive. Being one for 25 years I think I know what to look for. Not bad but room for improvement.

I am not a seafood eater, so when my family decided to go out for lobster, I was very glad to see that Bovine's also offered pizza, among a few other things, for non-seafood eaters. The pizza here is EXCELLENT. The chicken egg-rolls are also a MUST. And the view of the inlet is absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Myrtle Beach.

Great meal and a great view. Wood fired pizza was great. Would come back next time I'm in town. Plenty of parking across street also.

My family of four ate here for dinner. Little pricey, but nice place and atmosphere. Shrimp and grits were ok, my sons fried oysters weren't cooked enough. Daughters filet was ok. Strangely seasoned. Ok, but I wasn't wowed. Waiter and hostess were very courteous.

Nice spot with a good view of the water in the lower dining room. Food has been consistant over a couple visits. I suggest any of the steaks and the roasted garlic is a must have app.

Took 10 minutes until we we're greeted by a server. The hostess was oblivious as was the OLDER main hostess. Sat us at a table above some garage doors to the outside that was leaking water(server said it was because of rain). It has not rained since we have been here. The pizza was sub par. I have made better Pizza at home. One refill the whole dinner after waiting for server to come back after 25 minutes. No prebussing table. The leaking garage door water was never cleaned up after showing concern. The server FINALLY came back to bring us the check. The only good thing about this visit was the management. He took care of my pizza and drink. Would I recommend....NO. If you do go be prepared for service and food which lacks substance and maturity.

Watch some TV, pizza app and a burger. Tasty pizza but they could do more with the wood oven. Good burger.

I've been unimpressed by pretty much all of the Divine Dining Groups offerings in Murrells Inlet and Surf Side Beach. The food is mediocre and overpriced and Bovine's is no exception (except perhaps that it costs more and is not even as good as Bubba's). The food isn't well prepared - it's bland or overcooked and overly unimaginative. And the salad bar is pretty gross. The service is decent and the view is decent. But that's about it. Steer clear of this 'Divine' restaurant and perhaps just go to Bubba's for the same food at the cheeper price.

WE ate here based on a local person's recommendation. We made a reservation and were given a seat by the window on the marsh which was nice. wine and beer selection good. Crab cake mediocre. We both had the grouper (fresh catch) mine was grilled and was perfect, my husband's was blackened and way too dry. the salad bar was a long wait in line for nothing special. The noise level is quite high. We will try somewhere else. It was OK but not with a repeat.

The people that work here are very sweet, but the food is mediocre at best. When I am down south, I expect big meaty portions and well-seasoned food. This place charged a lot, gave very little food and the food wasn't good. This place is trying too hard to be an upscale joint. They should focus more on presenting a high quality food product.

We had a ribeye with grilled shrimp. It was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. Our friends had the pork chops and they were moist and had wonderful seasoning. The salad bar had a very good variety and the rolls were fresh and warm. Service was great and super friendly If we come back to visit we would definitely return.

Great service and overall good food. The steak was seasoned and cooked well. The corn pudding was closer to a corn custard and was really quite good.

An OK meal at a restaurant with an excellent view of a big-ass boat. Their entryway has a large mesh curtain that affords views of their wood-fired oven where they make pizzas. My 2-year had a blast watching the cook set up the pizza dough. From there you enter into a large indoor/outdoor bar, which looks like a fantastic meat market if you are in the 45-55 set. We came here for their pizzas, and that's what we got, except for my brother, a chef, who had to get a steak. His biggest complaint was that there was no seasoning on it. We got a spinach artichoke dip plate for the table which came with way too few pieces of toast. He got a lamb appetizer which was pretty darn good. You can really get away with an affordable meal if you go the wood-fired pizza route, they also have a pretty nice salad bar, too. Expect to pay typically premium prices if you go for beef. All-in-all a fairly average dining experience.

I dream of this place....big time! I was there a few years back while on vacation. They had a cucumber martini, before cucumber was a hot cocktail mixer. I dream of the corn pudding...which I hear from my chef dining partner, is similar to a corn timble...never did get him to make it for me! He had the lamb and he really enjoyed it. I had the beef tournados....it was cook perfectly and you barely even needed a knife to slice it. I loved that you could watch them cook the steaks in the dining room......I hope to return!

Great view of the full moon rising. Had a great dinner. Lovely atmosphere. Ethan was a GREAT Waiter. The strip steak was nicely cooked, but could have used a bit more seasoning. The trigger fish was GREAT. Not sure why they don't do a served salad since the salad bar was pretty ordinary

Several years ago me and my wife had a romantic steak dinner here. We decided to try it again, but we were suprised to find it changed to more of a "sizzler" type of resturant. Food is still good, but atmosphere is lots of families, lots of kids, and lots of noise.

Made reservations for 6:30 arrived at 6:45 and was promptly seated. Our waitress was Ola she was fantastic. Love the smell of the mesquite wood in the restaurant. We got spinach and artichoke dip for an app, very creamy and spicy it was enjoyed. The salad bar was ok in my opinion but my wife really liked it. The first treat of the night was while standing in line for the salad bar you can watch food being grilled over the mesquite, I loved that! We both ordered N.Y. Strips, my steak was seasoned well and melted in your mouth with a hint of the mesquite without it being overpowering. The second treat was the first bite of my steak, so tender and flavorful! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her steak as well. I thought the rolls at the salad bar were not going to be up to par but the were soft and sweet tasting. Ola was very attentive and made sure our glasses stayed full. I will definitely be back to Bovine's and will try the pizza! Two thumbs up, I would put up two more if I could!

I'm on the fence here people... The negative reviews seem to be consistent. I made the mistake of reading through all the reviews AFTER this place was decided for my mom-in-laws birthday. I think it dampened my experience, because I found myself looking for all the bad while I was there instead of just enjoying myself. I ordered the Island Style Pizza because I like Hawaiian pizza. It was very mild and not exactly popping with flavor. I think I failed to read the description that it was coated with oil, not tomato sauce. The spinach and artichoke dip we ordered was very good. My other family members enjoyed all of their dishes - so our food was fine. The best part was the decor - it was right by the water with a nice view (despite the large boat in front). The wood fire smell really gave it a nice warm feel. So take all these reviews for what they're worth - Like any place, there's good experiences and bad. This place certainly isn't a dump... I'm sure you'll be taken good care of if you go here!

Visiting family in the Myrtle Beach area, I was looking for a non-chain place where my wife and I could have a good dinner. After browsing through Yelp, I found Bovine's. It was midweek in December so no reservations were necessary, and we were seated right away by a very friendly hostess who was also the person that answered the phone when we called with questions. At the time we went in, there were only about 4 other tables occupied in the dining area and one waitress covering them. She was attentive to all of us, answered all our questions, and provided great service. Our appetizers and salad bar plates came out fast and she kept an eye out for whenever we needed anything. On to the food... The clam chowder was very good. Loaded with clams and vegetables. We also got the roasted head of garlic. The cloves were like butter with really good seasoning on it and very good crusty bread. Will definitely order this again. The salad bar plates are given to you ice cold, which is something I really like. The bar itself had basic romaine lettuce but a LOT of options to add on. Baby corn and artichoke hearts are not something I usually see in a salad bar but was very happy they were there. Everything was delicious and kept very cold. My only small complaint would be the corn bread mini muffins. They were very dry. I got the Kansas City Strip and added the crab & bearnaise to it. Steak was seasoned well, cooked exactly as I ordered, and the topping was LOADED with crab. The one item I was looking forward to from other reviews was the corn pudding. I was not disappointed. If you order something here that doesn't include this, make sure you order it! I was really happy to find this place to get a break from all the themed restaurants around... Next time I plan on trying the shrimp and grits, which verifies the fact that I will be back. Had a great dinner.

In terms of the Bar and the dining area, this place is great. Great being right on the inlet when weather is great because it is screened in with a great breeze with huge wood tables. As far as the food, it is average at best. They also have a salad bar that makes the golden corral look like a five star restaurant. The layout on the salad bar is ghetto and it is based around fattening dressings and iceberg lettuce. Ice berg lettuse is the equivelant to eating nothing for thos that dont know and that think the salad bar is a good deal. I got the mixed grill and left knowing that i could have cooked that same meal at home for a fraction of price. Also i asked if i could have my mahi blackened and other stuff grilled and he said the kitchen would get mad as it is all or none. Oh ok, sorry i dont want to burden anybody that is working-my bad- i thought i was paying for my meal. All in all, divine dining group is known for not catering to its customers as i have numerous grievances with california pizza. Divine dining group deserves to go bellly up. They think they are alot better than they really are. I lived in myrtle for 5 years, but after living in urban areas and metro areas as well it has become just how bad divine really is. Lucky for them average food is what myrtle is all about.

I've been coming here since I was young. The atmosphere and location on the water is what I remember most. The salad bar is a joke but the steaks are pretty good. As I grew up, I came to see that the food wasn't as amazing as I thought it was as a kid but the atmosphere keeps bringing my family back.

What a nice surprise. We had orginally made the trek from N.Myrtle to go to a different place. Upon walking in, we asked to be seated on the patio, it was a really windy day, and they moved us with no problem to a great window booth inside. We had a perfect view of the canal and the rising tide. The steaks we had were great, the wine selection was also very nice. The only down side was the skimpy salad bar. It seemed like an afterthought. Service was great and the bill was not bad at all.

A local and first time diner at Bovines, we arrived early and were offered a table by the salad bar, in total view of the restroom doors. It was explained to us that several unoccupied tables with a better view in the dining room were reserved for the anticipated dinner crowd due to arrive in a half hour. The room became uncomfortalbly warmer as diners arrived and glasses sweat in puddles on the marble table. During our dinner, the heat and humidity increased as we realized the doors to the restrooms (not air conditioned) and doors to the outdoor bar were wide open as servers and guest moved freely in and out. The food was mediocre and overpriced for the substandard dining experience. I must say our server was outstanding and I felt sorry that her efforts to deliver a good experience was hindered by the conditions surrounding her. There are better places to work where a server can be proud of guest services. I work in the service industry and understand what good customer service should be.

Great staff, simple salad bar (skip the rolls) with fresh smoked bacon. I had a regional dish, shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked perfectly! The corn pudding was delicious Great drinks and dessert as well. Love views.

Very similar experience to Snow G.'s review. We went early (6pm), but there was a wait on the way out. We had great service! Liked the menu variety. Pizza for the little one, a burger for the wife, and ribs for me. They use Fat Tuesday products for frozen drinks; that always leads to a good time. Had an inside both next to a large window overlooking the inlet. Great for the little one to look out at the boats.

The food was ok nothing special. You are paying for the ambience. Two of our dishes came out cold and it seemed that they may have been using a microwave for their mashed potatoes. The steak was good but not knock your socks off.

With so many restaurants up and down The Grand Strand, and more tucked in the narrow highway in Murrells Inlet, it's easy to give up and settle for just any one. But if you should make it to Myrtle Beach, definitely take a drive along Murrells Inlet (Mickey Spillane has a house there). There, the 2-lane highway is shaded by large oak trees, and charming mini-mansions and houses tucked alongside restaurants. Most restaurants have a view of the marshland. Bovine's always garner a visit from us when we are visiting family and friends. Given its namesake, definitely have the steak. However, it is the signature side of their corn pudding that gets my visit pumped. Custard-smooth corn pudding that tastes so sweet. Heaven.

The food here is very good. The atmosphere here is not as upscale as their neighbor Divine Fish House but they do have the same great view of the inlet. I would recommend this place as the food is good and the place is nice enough however the prices are a little much but it is to be expected in that area.

We are regular visitors to Murrels inlet... about three times a summer... And we have frequented various seafood restaurants over the years. It was our first time to Bovines. Last minute we were looking for dining and frankly picked Bovines because they served pizza which I thought my children would enjoy, as well as the possibility of ordering something different and maybe a bit cheaper after a weekend of typical seafood. It was July 5th and although we went quite early, about 5:45, we were seated immediately and at what we thought was the best table in the house. An outdoor table looking at the inlet and dock (the only table of this kind in the restaurant). My children did get a cheese pizza which was wood-fired and plenty for them to split, they are 4&6. I ordered the roasted veggie pizza with feta. It had a great flavor although I wished it had more veggies and a bit less feta. You have to LOVE feta because it was literally smothered in it. The veggies were only diced zucchini and squash, and sparce... But again it was good. Other items ordered by the table were the crab cake...nice lemon caper sauce, very good. Rib eye, overcooked requested medium to at least med well or well. Served with crab Bearnaise I think..husband liked it, but I didn't get much flavor from my bite. Salad bar looked small... But included plenty and very fresh lettuce and freshly crumbled bacon! Who doesn't live that. Highlights were: * Corn pudding side...almost like a souflee it was so light. * $3 house wine... I think it was happy hour. * The service. Our waitress was very pleasant and unphased even when we were quite indecisive and had to return a few times for out order. * Our table. With the breeze off the inlet and the atmosphere we really felt like we were on an island vacation...maybe the restaurant across the deck contributed to that vibe. But it was all good. We would definitely return to Bovines, but EARLY! As we were leaving, there was clearly a wait for many groups outside.

no. really. it's THAT good!! my bestie and i took a seriously overdue Mental Health Vaca to Myrtle Beach last month and stumbled on Murrells Inlet (thank God). our last supper of the vacation was at Bovine's, and had i known how phenomenal the experience would be, i'd probably just have slept in the back the entire time and had all my meals there. don't be fooled by other local 'high-end' eateries like Drunken Jack's; Bovine's Staff is absolutely top-notch, better food cannot be found (the ribs . . . the ribs), and the view at night with the awesome fire-and-candle ambiance makes you slow enough to realize how lucky we really are.

The entire menu looked great. There are of course various cuts of moo-cow, but there are also a number of entrees that reflect the cuisine of the area with a bit of a southwest twist to them. Since steaks are pretty easy to come by, I opted for the shrimp and grits which were fantastic. I will definitely return the next time I'm down that way. I second the other reviewers on the great views of the inlet from their dining room. Totally worth a visit if you're in the area.

I rely on Yelp, especially when traveling. For the past couple of years, friends and I always look forward to eating at Bovines when we are in Myrtle Beach over the summer. This year, I read the recent reviews, and unfortunately, they proved true last night. The restaurant has changed, and not for the better. We arrived at 6:30pm and were seated immediately. The open bar area was nearly empty. We asked to sit in the dining room and were taken to a table by the new salad bar. After the waitress took our drink order, a friend checked out the salad bar. He reported back to the table that the containers were nearly empty and there were spills from one container to the next. When I went up myself, I had a flashback of Golden Corral on a Saturday night. The waitress took our meal order. A friend specifically asked for a medium steak with a pink center, but it came out very rare -- squishy. Another friend had the shrimp pasta and stated it tasted like macaroni and cheese with shrimp mixed in it. I had the shrimp and grits which were tasty, but the portion size was small (in a such a large bowl). I was finished with my meal before the others. The menu online has indeed not been updated, so beware. I really cannot recommend returning to Bovines. The quality has suffered greatly. Our waitress was attentive, but completely missed the table next to us. The couple waited for 20 minutes before she took their meal order. I overheard her comping them a crab cake appetizer as a result. The highlight of the night was watching a female manager wander around the dining room with a napkin wiping up a trail of spills and picking up tomatoes and other odd items that had rolled away from the salad bar. Save your money for better dining experiences in Myrtle Beach from now on.

The rib-eye & filet were excellent, as were the corn custard & steamed fresh veggies. Waitress could have been more attentive ... had to ask about Happy Hour specials, then she didn't know what beers they offerred and took 15 min to serve the drinks even tho only a doz active tables. But, the food was served timely & hot. Definitely would return.

This is our go-to place since Oliver's Lodge closed. The food is really exceptional and the service is great too. Portions are huge-- we usually split something and just order another salad. Salmon on grit cake, while not the typical Murrell's Inlet fare, is quite yummy.

Bovine's has really gone downhill since we last ate there a couple of years ago. The crabcakes tasted like salmon cakes (all filler no crab). The shrimp pizza was a real disappointment. The shrimp were teeny frozen things, no way were they local or grilled as advertised. Don't waste your time or money here. Do yourself a favor and drive 15 min more south to Pawley's Island and get some good food at Frank's or Bove.
